An investigation into stolen construction and landscaping equipment in north Durham turned up more than police were looking for with the discovery of a 1968 Chevrolet Camara muscle car and a stolen mini excavator.
Construction tools and landscaping equipment were also recovered as part of the property crimes investigation, which took place over the spring and summer.
Two men were arrested. Both were held for a bail hearing.
Kevin Delaurier, 47, of Uxbridge is charged with three counts of break and enter, theft of motor vehicle; possess property obtained by crime under $5,000; fail to comply with undertaking and operate vehicle while prohibited.
Nicole Lewis, 40, of Stouffville is charged with possession property obtained by crime over $5,000; three counts of break and enter and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Police are urging rural property owners and construction companies to take extra measures to securing their property.
